Where does your shea butter come from?
Naasakle Limited is in Accra, Ghana and owned by Eugenia Akuete. She started in 1999 to buy and package the shea butter from local women to sell in the U.S.A. In 2002 / 2003 as a result of a USAID sponsored conference by the Corporate Council on Africa in Washington DC, she decided to expand into the processing of shea nuts.
The goal was to control the quality of the shea butter and directly help the women and their communities. Naasakle Limited is the only company located in Accra that produces shea butter by traditional methods.
